Pennsylvania Property Tax or Rent Rebate Program for 2009
Thursday, February 18th, 2010This program benefits eligible Pa residents age 65 and older, widows and widowers age 50 and older and people with disabilities age 18 and older.
The deadline to apply for a rebate on property taxes or rent paid in 2009 is
June 30, 2010.
This program is based on age and income. This year’s maximum income for the rebate is $35,000 for Property Owners and $15,000 for Renters
You must provide a copy of your Medicare Card, Driver’s License, both copies of your paid 2009 taxes and renters should have a “Rent Certificate” signed by your landlord.
You must provide a copy of all household income and one half of your Social Security as well as any withdrawals from an IRA, annuity, Vets Disability Benefits, Civil Services, Benefits, pensions and any wages or gambling or Lottery winnings.
It usually takes 120 to process your claim. Rebate checks are sent out the 1st week in July.
